Reusing Of Pet Flake

PET flakes have a high commercial value and is a valuable export commodity. The market price of pet flakes depends on their overall quality, as defined by purity, colour, and size. This is a result of many factors, such as collecting system, pre-handling, sorting and finaly processing in the recycling plant. Recycled PET flakes can be used for manufacturing a wide range of products. Depending on the purity, the flakes can be reused for different types of application, as exemplified below.

Fibres

• Fibres can be made of various length and thickness for the following use:
• Carpeting
• Filler(stuffing)for cushions, pillows, stuffed toys etc.
• Insulation in sleeping bags , clothing etc.
• Textiles for clothing, upholstery, fabrics, etc.
• Special fibres for conveyor belts.
• Fishing nets, etc.

Sheeting

• PET sheeting is used for thermo-forming of the following items:
• Roof insulation materials (water resistant)
• Covers for car floors
• Films and sheets(coloured, metalized)
• Thermoset films
• Microwavable food trays foe frozen foods,
• Various types of containers, E.g. clear containers used for fruits and vegetables in grocery stores; pacakaging for toys etc.
• Containers and pots for plants purchased in gardening stores
• Small measuring cups found in laundry detergent boxes etc
• Plastic cups etc.

Strapping

Pet strapping materials are used for securing products on pallets for transporting. Strapping can be made in various dimensions and is often produced from PET Flakes, but clear can also be used.

Foamed containers
Boxes for eggs (made by pressing and foaming)

Bottles (non-food contact)
Intermediate layers of multi-layer bottles for fruit juices,yoghurt etc
Bottles for automative fluids such as motor oil, transmission fluid, etc

Injection moulding
Moulded parts (also from glass filled PET) for the automobile industry
(radioter grill retainers, door handles, wheel housings, etc), parts for lighting units, home appliances, floor tiles etc.

Some of other uses of Pet

Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET PETE):

PET is clear, tough and has good gas and moisture barrier properties. Some of this plastis is used in PET soft drink bottles and other blow molded containers, although sheet applications are increasing . Cleaned, recycled PEt flakes and pellets are increasing Cleaned , recycled PET flakes and pellets are in great demand for spinning fiber for carpet yarns and producing fiberfill and geotextiles.    Packaging for take away foods, disposable utensils and foam packaging.
6. PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride):
   Coating on copper wires, rain proof sandals and many more.
